One of the characteristic techniques of Ko-Imari during the Edo period, which was loved by European aristocrats, is ``Somenishiki'', which is a dyed cloth with overlays of red, green, gold, etc. The splendid design, with its indigo flower pattern, chrysanthemums and peonies in bright red, and the gorgeous gold surrounding it, is a representative of the Old Imari style, worthy of being called ``Gokunishiki.''
